Production Line Lead (3rd Shift) — Try-Before-Hire

Location: La Crosse, WI
Pay: $26.00/hr + $2.50/hr shift differential (total $28.50/hr)
Schedule: 3rd shift, Sunday–Thursday, 10:45 PM–7:00 AM

Position Summary

The Production Line Lead is responsible for performing and overseeing tasks involved in production, with primary responsibility for leading the work crew on a specific production line. This role follows standard work methods and safe work habits to keep production running efficiently and safely. Works in all areas of production as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a production line crew; assign employees to stations and communicate the daily schedule.
• Ensure safety protocols and GMP procedures are followed; coach production operators and staffing employees as needed.
• Review the production schedule and verify required materials and special components are staged and ready.
• Verify components/packaging match the blend sheet (bags, pallets, fill weights, lot numbers, labels, paperwork).
• Complete pre-operation inspections and production record documentation.
• Coordinate packaging needs (size/type/timing) with batching.
• Ensure required metal detector/sifter checks are completed at required frequencies.
• Monitor production quality and line performance (bag seals, product consistency, weights, pallet stacking, yield/recovery).
• Coordinate changeovers and ensure runs are cleared/closed out properly (samples, labels/bags, yield calculations, paperwork).
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and line.
• Complete forklift operational checks and operate a forklift if qualified.
• Train new production line workers across lines.
• Communicate line issues promptly with Maintenance and the Production Supervisor/Plant Manager.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly handle bags of product weighing at least 25 kg (55 lbs).

Additional Information

This role has regular contact with production employees and leadership and may occasionally interact with Quality Assurance and regulatory inspectors.
