NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).
Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.
PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Qualifications: Minimum of 30 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree in History, Parks and Rec, Education, other similar fields with minimum additional experience of 5 year(s)
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
Duties: Enrollee will support the Nez Perce National Historical Park interpretation and visitor services program by greeting park visitors, staffing the park visitor center, giving interpretive presentations, leading interpretive walks through park grounds, roving critical visitor areas, and other general support to the staff and visiting public.
- Greeting and orienting visitors 40%
- Giving public presentations and guided walking tours 20%
- Interacting informally with visitors and answering questions about the park and general area 20%
- Patrolling and roving various locations in the park 20%
Other: - Physical requirements: Work will primarily be in the park visitor center. May be exposed to outdoor elements when providing walking tours or driving to park sites. Most walking will be along either hardened or maintained trail surfaces.
